Today, Florida’s Sunshine Music Festival has announced that it will be going on hiatus in 2019. The festival had become a staple of the Tedeschi Trucks Band touring schedule, with the two-day event traveling across the state of Florida each winter with a stop in St. Petersburg one day of the festival weekend and Boca Raton on the other. In addition to TTB, in the past, the festival had hosted performances by Mike Gordon, Medeski Martin & Wood, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Bruce Hornsby, Mavis Staples, Galactic, Hot Tuna, Foundation Of Funk, Railroad Earth, Trombone Shorty, The Revivalists, and others.
Per a post on the festival’s Facebook page, while Sunshine Music Festival is not returning next January for its seventh-annual edition, Tedeschi Trucks Band “has some special plans for St. Pete/Tampa Bay/Gulf Coast and South Florida fans for next year!”
