Denver’s hydro-funk trio SunSquabi have just released their new single, “SteamCat”. “SteamCat” follows 2019’s Instinct, and marks the first of many releases the band has planned for the coming months.
The song carries a very heavy presence with huge rock n’ roll guitar and synth lines that create a melodic and moody musical experience. “SteamCat” is a perfect display of how SunSquabi stays in the pocket for the sake of building well-developed peaks and climaxes.

“The track takes on a life of its own in ways and really wrote itself once we had laid the foundation,” said bassist/synth player Josh Fairman.
Guitarist/keyboardist Kevin Donohue added, “We have been playing this track out live for a bit now and have really honed in on making the song as big as possible with the audience. The response has been amazing out there and we can’t wait to show you the rest of what we have in store in these upcoming releases.”

SunSquabi will continue the Dayglow Funk Tour with The Floozies at the end of April, as shows in Florida (4/22, 4/23) lead to a show at The Caverns in Pelham, TN (4/25). From there, they will head west to Texas before circling back for festival season which will see the band perform at Domefest, Summer Camp, Backwoods at Mulberry Mountain, Electric Forest, and more.
