Susan Sarandon has been having a grand old time at Burning Man and documenting her experience along the way. Apparently, the eccentric actress toted along late psychologist and LSD pioneer Timothy Leary’s ashes to forever memorialize her friend in Black Rock City, Nevada.

Sarandon carried Leary’s ashes in an urn as she led a tribute procession through the “Totem of Confessions,” a “church” erected as an art installation for the week. She donned a white gown and a crowd of roses and was accompanied by a man playing a nose whistle and some other participants. The makeshift church was later ceremoniously burned.

“I think he’d be so happy. I think he would have loved the chaos (of Burning Man). He would have loved it,” Sarandon told USA Today. “And all these people honoring him with LSD.”

Sarandon was part of artist Michael Garlington’s Burning Man crew. It was her second year returning to the Playa.
