As noted by The Florida-Times Union’s Jacksonville.com, Susan Tedeschi of the Tedeschi Trucks Band will sing the National Anthem today for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills—marking the Jaguars’ first home playoff game nearly two decades. Following her opening performance, Tedeschi will take advantage of Jaguars season tickets she and her husband and bandmate Derek Trucks have held for 15 years and watch her team face off against the Bills.
It’s no secret that Tedeschi and Trucks are huge Jacksonville fans. As Tedeschi told Jacksonville.com, “When you care about a team — I love the Jags so much — I know I’m going to be nervous, but I think it’s going to be fun.” She also told Jacksonville.com her thoughts on the upcoming game, noting “With LeSean McCoy out, I think we’re going to do pretty good. We’re going to have to run around a lot after Tyrod Taylor but I think our defense is pretty outstanding. We have a pretty rocking defense so I think they’re gonna be in trouble.”
She also explained while she’s sung the National Anthem at numerous sporting events, she hasn’t sung at a sporting event in a while, later elaborating, “I’ve only done two football games; one was the Patriots and the Bills and one was the Jags and the Titans.”
The Jaguars, who were the NFC South champion, are slightly favored to win against the Buffalo Bills at their home arena of EverBank Field in downtown Jacksonville today. You can tune in to watch Susan sing the National Anthem and the game on CBS at 1 p.m. (EST).
