For those of us that are deeply entrenched in the music scene, when you lose one of your own, whether it is a musician or in this case an avid fan, it hits you just a little bit harder. The scene that we are apart of is so interconnected in ways that are hard to explain, and many times imagine. You meet so many incredible people along your journeys, and so many more that you would have liked to had you the chance encounter to cross paths.

Such is the case with taper Eric Vandercar, who was tragically taken from us in Tuesday evening’s Metro-North accident in which a commuter train crashed into an SUV in Westchester County, NY. The news came early Wednesday afternoon, and in various forums so many that knew Vandercar shared stories and tales of music and travels that tell you all that you need to know about this amazing soul. A husband and father of two, he had been taping moe. since their early days, was a huge fan of The Radiators, and along with his wife, Jill, could always be seen smiling, enjoying themselves and just being friendly to those around them.

Vandercar was 53 years old, and is survived by his wife and two children. Live for Live Music sends our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences to his family, as well as all of the families that lost loved one’s to this terrible tragedy.

A good friend of moe. for many years, the band released a statement on their Facebook page:
