Historically an autumn affair, this year’s Tedeschi Trucks Band Beacon residency in May saw the band notch its 64th career sold-out show at the famed venue. With this latest milestone, TTB has the third-most sold-out shows in the venue’s history, following Steely Dan (67) and another band that long featured Derek Trucks on guitar, the Allman Brothers Band (239). Should the 2026 shows sell out—like they always do—Tedeschi Trucks will jump Steely Dan to become the band with the second-most sold-out shows in the history of the Beacon Theatre. Read more about the historic 64th sold-out show, featuring a fitting debut of The Beatles‘ “When I’m 64”, here.

In addition to the residency revelation, Tedeschi Trucks Band announced it will make its Jesse Lauter-directed 2021 documentary, Learning To Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen, available for free on YouTube this week (11/11–11/16). The feature film documents TTB’s historic 2015 reunion of Joe Cocker’s Mad Dogs backing band, immortalized on the 1970 live album Mad Dogs & Englishmen. TTB reunited original members of the Mad Dogs, including Rock & Roll Hall of Fame keyboardist Leon Russell, for a one-off performance at the 2015 LOCKN’ Festival, which recently got a live release of its own as Mad Dogs & Englishmen Revisited (Live At LOCKN’).

Cocker, and that live release in particular, have had a profound impact on Trucks, Tedeschi, and their band. On Saturday at the Peacock Theater in L.A., Tedeschi Trucks Band led a tribute to Cocker for his posthumous induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Tedeschi Trucks Band had the honor of closing out the evening, performing “The Letter” with Nathaniel Rateliff and “Feelin’ Alright” with Teddy Swims, leading to a climactic finale of “With A Little Help From My Friends” alongside Cyndi Lauper, Bryan Adams, and The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson.
