Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, and the rest of the Tedeschi Trucks Band Labor Day weekend in the Northeast alongside alt-country favorite Margo Price and progressive grass staple Greensky Bluegrass as part of their lengthy 2024 Deuces Wild Tour. Continuing a recent trend of sit-ins on the tour, the weekend’s shows at Saratoga Springs, NY’s Saratoga Performing Arts Center (8/30, 8/31) and Guilford, NH’s Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook (9/1) featured sit-ins by both Greensky dobro man Anders Beck and Margo Price and her band.
On Friday, 8/31 at the group’s first of two SPAC shows, which featured support from both tour regular Margo Prince and one-off opener Greensky Bluegrass, Anders Beck toted his dobro onstage toward the end of TTB’s headlining performance to add a second layer of slide guitar spark to a rendition of Derek and the Dominos‘ “Keep on Growing”. During the show’s encore, Margo Price joined in for renditions of Bob Dylan classic “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” and The Coasters‘ “Let’s Go Get Stoned”. The show also featured the Tedeschi Trucks Band debut of Dylan favorite “Tangled Up in Blue”.
“That’s the sh*t I live for, right there!” Anders Beck wrote of the experience in a comment on Instagram. “As a huge fan of Derek, Susan and everything TTB, it was a trip to be on the freight train for a little while last night. Music is special stuff! Gratitude!”
“Killed it!” said Margo Price in a comment on social media. “Was a blast to watch y’all side stage.”

On Saturday, August 31st, during a show supported by Margo Price and Little Feat, Price once again joined the band for an encore collaboration on Leon Russell‘s “Stranger in a Strange Land”. Then, on Sunday, September 1st in New Hampshire, the last date of Margo Price’s extended run with the Deuces Wild Tour, Tedeschi Trucks Band brought out Margo and her eponymous band for a reprise of “Stranger in a Strange Land” to close the main set before opening the encore with Margo on George Jones‘ “Color of the Blues” and finally inviting the rest of her band to round things out with a dual-band medley of Sly & The Family Stone‘s “Sing a Simple Song” and “I Want to Take You Higher”.
Tedeschi Trucks Band will round out its Deuces Wild Tour in late September and early October with a string of “evening with” dates at Nashville, TN’s Ascend Amphitheater (9/21), New York, NY’s Beacon Theatre (9/24, 9/25), Brooklyn, NY’s Kings Theatre (9/27, 9/28), Boston, MA’s MGM Music Hall (10/1) and Wang Theatre (10/4), and Port Chester, NY’s The Capitol Theatre.
