On Sunday, Tedeschi Trucks Band brought their ongoing Wheels Of Soul Tour to Charleston’s Volvo Car Stadium for a weekend-closing performance at the South Carolina venue. Following a pair of shows at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre earlier in the weekend, the rock band continued their run of sharing the new music from their 2019 Signs LP for their fans throughout the southeast.

The band opened the night’s performance with the title track from their new album in “Signs, High Times”. The energy continued right into a groovy rendition of “Do I Look Worried” with Susan Tedeschi leading the way with her trademark vocals. The band then returned to the Signs tracklisting with “I’m Gonna Be There”, followed by a cover of Derek and the Dominos‘ “Tell the Truth”. Another new tune in “Still Your Mind” came next before the band turned to another cover in Little Milton‘s “More and More”.

The show rolled on with yet another tune off of Signs with “Shame” before the free-flowing vibes of “Midnight in Harlem” took over the outdoor venue. The set continued with “Part of Me” before Derek and Susan turned to the Bob Dylan songbook for their rendition of “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right”. The set came to a close with performances of the blues standard “Key to the Highway” and the energizing “I Want More”.

The band indeed left their fans wanting more before they returned to the stage for a two-song, covers-only encore featuring Leon Russell‘s “Stranger in a Strange Land” and their go-to combo of Sly & the Family Stone‘s “Sing a Simple Song” and “I Want to Take You Higher”.

Sunday’s performance wrapped the run of shows throughout the southeast, as TTB now sets its sights on Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY where they’ll be on August 18th alongside John Fogerty, Grace Potter, and more as the veteran rocker celebrates 50 years since his appearance at Woodstock at the same location.
