Earlier this year, the Temple of the Dog super group surprised us all with the announcement of their first tour ever. The band helped define the Seattle sound in the early 1990’s, forming when Mother Love Bone frontman Andrew Wood passed away from a drug overdose. Chris Cornell wrote music to help process his grief, and the songs eventually found a home with the remaining members of Mother Love Bone, Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard (both of whom are now with Pearl Jam).

When the group brought in Mike McCready and Matt Cameron, the short-lived Temple of the Dog project took off, and the group played some of the best Seattle performances of all time. Now, 25 years later, the band is celebrating the anniversary of their self-titled album with a major deluxe re-master reissuing, featuring a number of unreleased demos and materials.

Among those songs is a previously unheard track from the beloved grunge-era band titled “Black Cat.” The song, which premiered on Rolling Stone, can be streamed below!

The band will tour throughout November, with a handful of stops across the country. The band has hinted at making a full fledged reunion tour, so hopefully things go well!
