The Black Crowes have announced their new album, A Pound of Feathers, is due out March 13th via Silver Arrow Records, marking the band’s tenth full-length studio effort and its first since 2024’s critically acclaimed Happiness Bastards, which was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Along with the announcement, the band shared not one but two lead singles, “Propane Prophecy” and “Pharmacy Chronicles”. The former serves as the album’s opening track, while the latter is described as a slow-burning meditation on confronting personal vices.
Recorded in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Jay Joyce, A Pound of Feathers features 11 tracks written by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson. The album came together in a flash of rock and roll inspiration, rolling in on a wave of momentum and infused with a spirit of collaboration.
“We made this record in eight to ten days,” said Chris Robinson. “Bringing the high and inspiration from Happiness Bastards into this album, it was a natural progression. We experimented more, we wrote on instinct and how we were feeling in the moment. Rich brought a spontaneity to the record that I can’t describe, but it’s the best shit he’s ever done.”
“This album feels transformative to us,” Rich Robinson added. “Going back to our roots, we felt that spark in the studio and how we work together. Lighting a fire that hits harder, more jagged but is still true to our musical essence.”
