On Thursday, Dec. 18th at The Cutting Room in New York City, Steve Molitz and Clay Parnell of Particle will team up with Matt Jalbert and Isaac Teel from TAUK. The collaboration, dubbed The Directors Cut, will see the group JAM modern takes on classic movie theme songs. Video clips and montages from the various movies will be played in the background as the group takes fans on an audio-visual journey down memory lane. Some of the songs the group will tackle will be from movies such as the Bond films, Kill Bill, Purple Rain, and more. This is going to be a fun one. Purchase advanced tickets here.
Special guests will be announced as the show nears. For now, here is some additional info on the band:
Steve Molitz (keys) – founding member of livetronica act Particle, the keyboardist/songwriter is a mad scientist of sorts, with a fresh and experimental style of play all his own. His obvious skills have landed him on tour, in the studio, and performing live with everyone from Phil Lesh & Friends to Robbie Krieger of The Doors, and The Allman Brothers Band to the Hydra collaboration with Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart.
Matt Jalbert (guitar) – the guitarist from NY-based prog-rock-jam fusion act Tauk is quickly becoming known as one of the up and coming guitar players in the scene today. With a style that mixes hard rock to ambient, and classical to progressive, Jalbert is already impressing fans and and only getting better. Playing in front of some serious audiences at Bonnaroo, Catskill Chill, and other major national festivals across the country, Jalbert is no stranger to shining on lead guitar.
Clay Parnell (bass) – Parnell has been a member of Philadelphia’s Brothers Past since the group began in 1998, and most recently became the full-time bassist for Particle w/ Steve Molitz since the group decided to get back out in full-tour mode earlier in 2014. He is also a member of American Babies with Brothers Past frontman Tom Hamilton, as well one-half of duo BioDiesel with drumming phenomenon Johnny Rabb, and has played shared the stage with members of The Disco Biscuits. Long story short, Clay holds it down on bass deep pocket groove with the best of them.
Isaac Teel (drums) – since joining Tauk back in early 2012, Teel has helped the group break through to a whole other level with his undeniable skills behind the kit. He has been featured in Modern Drummer magazine for his elevated level of play, and anybody that has seen him work his magic, whether it is live or on record, knows how talented he truly is.
