The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne has confirmed via Instagram that the band will be covering The Stone Roses self-titled debut in full. The caption to the above mentioned photo stated “Doin vocals for She bangs The Drum hopin to get Channy of Polica to sing on it too!!!!” The upcoming album has also been confirmed by The Future Heart, as well as the band’s publicist. Since the band is known for their unique mind-bending approach of other previous classic albums such as In The Court of The Crimson King by King Crimson and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of The Moon, this is exciting news from The Lips. The band just recently released a new love songs compilation encased in a chocolate human heart for Valentine’s Day and their next studio album ‘The Terror,’ which was recorded at Tarbox Road Studios in New York, is due out April 1st via Bella Union (UK).

It has been discussed that many “Fwends” (special guest appearances) as Wayne Coyne calls them, will appear on the album. So far, various Twitter messages have discussed New Fumes on the song “Bye Bye Badman” and White Dwarfs, HOTT MT & Stardeath appearing together on “Waterfall.” Depth & Current, Def Rain, Shoegazers and more have also been mentioned to be contributing.
