Veteran New Jersey indie-rock outfit The Gaslight Anthem was one of several acts to welcome Bruce Springsteen for a sit-in during this past weekend’s Sea.Hear.Now festival in Asbury Park, NJ.

After stopping by The Stone Pony the night prior for an extended appearance at the festival’s Ocean Avenue Stomp Saturday late-night and joining in with Trey Anastasio Band for “Kitty’s Back” on the beach Sunday afternoon, The Boss headed over to the festival’s Park Stage to help The Gaslight Anthem open its set with collaborative renditions of “History Books” and “American Slang” before heading back toward the main stage to prepare for his own headlining performance with the E Street Band.

Later in the set, The Gaslight Anthem brought out bassist/vocalist/bandleader Karina Rykman to sit in on a pair of songs. First, the Rykman-augmented outfit churned out a take on their recently released collaborative cover of Billie Eilish track “Ocean Eyes”. Karina stuck around from there to add bass and vocals to a performance of “The ’59 Sound”.
