Two of the household names of bass, Excision and Downlink, along with drummer KJ Sawka from the electronic rock bands Pendulum and Conspirator, have joined forces to create the dubstep supergroup Destroid. The trio have been working in the studio for 3 years to create their debut full length album, with the intention to revolutionize bass and electronic music all around the world.

Each of the DJs had the chance to show off their skills creating speaker blowing tracks in collaboration with some of the greats of electronica. Collaborations include with frontrunner Bassnectar on one of the tracks, “Put It Down,” which brings dubstep, bass and hip-hop together into a heavenly journey through multiple bass drops that could only be comparable in the cosmos. Other collaborations on the album include Far Too Loud, Ajapai and Space Laces. The entire album is to be a trip through hyperspace, delivering electronic devastation along with an extreme stage show as they travel.

In addition, Destroid will be going across the country for a short run as a full live band, including their debut in San Francisco. The plan to appear at The Warfield in San Francisco, the Moonrise Festival on June 8 in Baltimore, Maryland, the Orion Music+More Festival on June 9 in Detroit, Michigan and to be featured at the well-known Camp Bisco in Pattersonville, New York.

“I’ve spent over three years getting this new Destroid project ready and I really believe that the way we are putting it together sets down a new path for electronic music performance,” says Destroid founder Excision.

Excision plans to hold an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit at 5pm PST on May 7, the day of their album release, encouraging fans to ask him anything relating to Destroid, Excision and the recently finished “Execution Tour” which featured “The Executioner”, the groundbreaking production stage that came along with Excision’s extreme bass live show.
