“Front Porch Americana” trio The Last Revel is quickly gaining ground as one of the most exciting acts to come out of the storied Upper Midwest music scene in recent memory. Comprised of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalists Ryan AckerVincenzio Donatelle, and Rachel Hanson, this talented Minneapolis-based group consistently crafts heartfelt songs that come across with powerful emotion by way of their impressive collective musical abilities.

Today, Live For Live Music is excited to premiere the latest new song from The Last Revel, “Roses”, a pensive lament that seeks to give perspective on the emotional toll of the changing seasons. As Rachel Hanson, who wrote the song, explains,

“Roses” explores seasonal depression from a partner’s point of view. This flip-side of the coin is an essential part of the whole story of mental health, a perspective not often approached let alone spoken frankly about. Depression often leaves in its wake a great deal of heartbreak, and what we decide to do with the pieces changes everything. “Roses” is a decisive song of love that reaches down through the cold and numb to find the passionate core of hope within us all.

Draped in layers of wistful twang, honest introspection, swelling strings, raw guitar, and chill-inducing vocal harmony, “Roses” is a master class in salt of the earth Americana songwriting. Check out the new single from The Last Revel below:
