The musical comedy trio of Lonely Island are about to take things to a whole new plateau, as they prepare for the release of a new film, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping. Featuring Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone, and Akiva Schaffer, the trio got made their breakthrough with digital shorts on Saturday Night Live, and have been making people laugh ever since.
Come June 3rd, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping will feature Samberg as a former boy band star who’s solo album release bombs, forcing him to reunite with his old group. The film is certainly parodying fluff pop-star documentary pieces, and the trailer alone shows off a number of incredible cameos and co-stars. Comedians Sarah Silverman, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Will Arnett are all featured, as well as cameos from DJ Khaled, Simon Cowell, Usher and more. With Judd Apatow on board to produce, you know this is going to be comedic gold.
