The Main Squeeze are back, bringing their neo funk sound to the Gramercy Theater on November 27. The band, born in Bloomington, Indiana, and currently based out of Chicago, Illinois, The Main Squeeze have established themselves in both the funk and jam band scene, blending the genres with danceable beats and raging guitars.

Led by singer Corey Frye, The Main Squeeze consists of guitarist Max Newman, keyboardist Smiley, drummer Rueben Gingrich, bassist Jeremiah Hunt, and a horn section consisting of Michael Emmert, Alphonso Horne, and Jake Kenowitz. Together, these guys create a big sound, filling the room with groovy funk sounds and tremendous vocals.

Since being known as the Bloomington’s best kept secret, The Main Squeeze have broken out, playing highly regarded sets at festivals like Equifunk and Hulaween, and high profile gigs like opening up for The Meter Men and Page McConnell. Their sets feature high energy originals, and classic covers from both the funk and jam world. Check these guys out and see what all the fuss is about.
