For the second time on their extensive The Who Hits 50! tour, the legendary rock band has been forced to postpone tour dates due to health issues from lead singer Roger Daltrey. According to an announcement on The Who’s website, the band will be postponing four dates between September 14-21, and cancelling their headlining slot at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
The reason for the postponement is a virus, contracted by Daltrey. “Doctor’s orders” are to blame for the five missed performances, though four of them will be made up.
A similar incident happened back in May, as Daltrey had swollen vocal cords causing the band to postpone a handful of dates. Daltrey, 71, must have particularly sensitive vocal cords, as he flipped off the handle at a show when someone smoked marijuana in the front row at the Nassau Coliseum. While the video has since been removed, you can read about that here.
Get well soon Roger!
