A B.B. King Blues Club is slated to open up in New Orleans late this Fall. The establishment will take over the space currently occupied by a Margaritaville, which will shut its doors on June 30th.

B.B. King’s reportedly spent 15 years searching for the perfect NOLA location before deciding on the Decatur St. move.

Tommy Peters, president of B.B. King’s, says the venue/bar/restaurant will employ local musicians. The new space will be designed by NOLA local Brooks Graham, the architect behind Donald Link restaurants Herbsaint and Cochon.

The spot at 1104 Decatur Street, right in the heart of the French Quarter and by the waterfront, was previously occupied by Storyville Jazz Hall before it became a Margaritaville in the early 90s.
