There’s a rock opera coming to Broadway, based on 1999 cult classic Fight Club. The film’s original director, David Fincher, has teamed up with Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor on the project, which has reportedly been in the works since last year.

This is not the first time this power pairing has collaborated. Reznor has scored award-winning soundtracks for a number of Fincher’s renowned films, including The Social Network, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl.

Chuck Palahniuk, the author of the original 1996 Fight Club novel, confirmed the news at Comic-Con in San Diego this past weekend. Guess he broke his own rules…
