Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers headlined this year’s Outside Lands Music Festival, playing, in San Francisco, on the 19th anniversary of Jerry Garcia’s passing. In honor of the great musician, Petty dedicated a performance of the Dead’s famous tune “Friend of the Devil” to the late Garcia.

Here’s Petty’s dedication to Jerry:

Petty first performed “Friend of the Devil” in 1997, and revived the cover last year at a number of high-profile performances. The Outside Lands performance featured a number of tracks from Petty’s new album, Hypnotic Eye (read the review here), as well as many fan favorites.

You can check out some fan-shot footage of “Devil” below:

Petty resumes his Hypnotic Eye tour with a performance in Portland, OR tomorrow night.
