On Saturday night, Trey Anastasio Band offered up a two-set headlining performance at The Peach Music Festival, held at Scranton, PA’s Montage Mountain.

Trey Anastasio and his powerhouse of a band opened up their set with “Set Your Soul Free”, a tune Trey debuted in 2017 with TAB and slowly but surely found its way into Phish‘s regular rotation. Slowing things down a bit, Trey led the way into “Alive Again”, which was followed up by horn-lathered takes on “Cayman Review” and “Money, Love and Change”. Trey dazzled the Scranton crowd with a series of tenacious guitar solos, sans any drool, backed by his phenomenal horn section comprised of Jennifer Hartswick, Natalie Cressman, and James Casey. The band moved forward with “Magilla”, “Everything’s Right”, and “Dark and Down” before closing out the first frame with a bubbly “Gotta Jibboo”.

Following a brief setbreak, Trey Anastasio and his bandmates returned to open their second set with “Night Speaks To A Woman”, allowing Trey a chance to fire off some red-hot licks out of the gates. The eight-piece moved forward with solid takes on “Mozambique”, “Sand”, “Shine”, and “Rise/Come Together”, which was followed up by a scorching segue of “Blaze On” into “Simple Twist Up Dave”. After closing out Phish’s summer tour with a mind-blowing masterpiece at East Troy, WI’s Alpine Valley Music Theatre, Trey made it clear that he’s going to continue bringing his “A” game as the summer rolls on. Following “Simple Twist Up Dave”, Trey led his band into “A Life Beyond The Dream”, a gorgeous number from his Ghosts of the Forest project. Following bouncy takes on “Valentine” and “Tuesday”, Trey Anastasio Band brought their second set to a close with an explosive “First Tube”.

Returning to the stage with Hartswick, Cressman, and Casey, Anastasio grabbed his acoustic guitar and worked through a tender “Brief Time”, the second and final Ghosts of the Forest tune of the evening. Welcoming back Russ Lawton, Ray Paczkowski, Tony Markellis, and Cyro Baptista, the full band closed out their Peach Fest performance with “Push On ‘Til The Day”, giving Trey one final opportunity to run and bounce around the stage.
