Trombone Shorty brought a taste of New Orleans to the Big Apple earlier this week with a headlining show at New York’s The Rooftop at Pier 17 and a visit to the Ed Sullivan Theater to appear on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews and his band Orleans Avenue are in the midst of an extensive summer tour that includes shows with Big Boi and Neal Francis, plus a leg of European dates. After kicking off their summer tour last week, the bombrasstic bandleader and his rowdy New Orleans ensemble stopped in New York City Sunday for a threauxdown in the City that Never Sleeps. The following day, he brought his horn over to 30 Rockefeller Plaza to sit in with Louis Cato and the Late Show Band.
