Brooklyn-based 9-piece funk powerhouse Turkuaz has released a bluegrass-inspired, unplugged video for “Life In the City”, the title-track off of their 2018 album. Recorded during a recent Sugarshack Session in Miami, FL, the video is the first to be released from the “unplugged” session.
Guitarist Dave Brandwein explains, “We were hesitant to do this at first when we were told it was an ‘unplugged’ session. Our live show is very loud, in-your-face, and most of all, ELECTRIC! – in every sense of the word. But it ended up being an inspiring challenge and opportunity for us to do something totally new. For the first cut from the session, we decided to embrace that challenge to the fullest, and do ‘Life in the City’ in a completely different style. It worked surprisingly well, and we had a fine time doing it!”
