Turkuaz has released the full tour schedule for their upcoming run of shows celebrating Talking Heads‘ 1980 album, Remain In Light, featuring Talking Heads co-founder Jerry Harrison and touring guitarist Adrian Belew as well as percussionist Yahuba Garcia-Torres.
In addition to offering some details about the special run of shows, the Tuesday announcement includes the addition of a late-night show at the Joy Theater in New Orleans, LA on May 2nd during New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. The band also announced Monday that they will take their Remain In Light celebration to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO for a co-headlining show with The Motet.

Along with the complete list of dates, Turkuaz also shared some details about what fans can expect from these special performances. According to a press release, the Remain In Light shows “will feature songs from Remain in Light, as well as other tunes from the Talking Heads songbook over a 90-minute set of music.”
Until this week, Turkuaz had been releasing the tour one date at a time as various festival lineups were released, including Electric Forest, FloydFest, The Peach Music Festival, BottleRock Festival, and Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
“Remain in Light and Talking Heads have been part of the soundtrack of our lives, and a huge inspiration to us as a band since day one,” frontman Dave Brandwein explains in a press release. “It’s certainly not every day you get a chance to collaborate with the very people who inspired you. These shows, and this chance to work with Jerry and Adrian is a dream come true. More than anything, all parties involved are excited to bring this music back to life, and back to the stage in a way that hasn’t been done for many years.”
Upon seeing Turkuaz perform their own show live this past December, Belew shared, “Turkuaz came in town to play the Exit/In. Jerry Harrison flew in and he and I went to see the show. It was super funky and joyous! After two songs we looked at each other and said ‘this is gonna work beautifully!'”
Harrison adds, ”What a joy it is to be playing music with Adrian Belew again. Having recently produced music for Turkuaz, it was like I was introducing close friends who had never met. We all left the rehearsal very excited.“
Additionally, the ensemble released a promotional video of the entire group jamming out “Crosseyed and Painless” from the classic album.
