Tyler, The Creator created quite a ruckus at his SXSW show this past Thursday. So much so, that it landed him in the slammer. When Tyler arrived at the airport to leave Texas, the police charged him with inciting a riot, setting his bond at $3,500.

In a scenario that I thought only existed on my law school exams, Tyler proclaimed,

“All you guys back there that can’t get in,” he said — then implored the mob to bust down the gates. There was a split second when it seemed like the crowd wasn’t going to do it, a possibility Tyler extinguished as he led the audience in a chant of “PUSH, PUSH, PUSH!”

And the crowd obeyed.

Tyler was charged with a Class A Misdemeanor, namely, “the subject encouraged a large crowd on more than one occasion to force themselves past venue employees controlling access at the venue which was already at full capacity.”  If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
