On Saturday, November 4th, the #1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (University of Georgia) and the South Carolina Gamecocks (University of South Carolina) will take to Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia, for a highly anticipated SEC football matchup. During the UGA home game, the school will be honoring the late Allman Brothers Band rock star and Georgia native Gregg Allman, with recipients of the Gregg Allman Scholarship being formally recognized and the University of Georgia’s Redcoat Marching Band performing three Allman Brothers Band songs during halftime.
The Gregg Allman Scholarship Fund is a product of Allman’s generosity toward UGA’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music. In 2015, the beloved rock icon established the fund in collaboration with the UGA Music Business Program, with the funds going toward students who are looking to make it in the music industry.
The game against the UGA Bulldogs and USC Gamecocks starts at 3:30 pm (EST) on Saturday, November 4th, and will be aired nationally on CBS.
