Umphrey’s McGee closed their Halloween weekend with their second of two performances at Philadelphia’s The Fillmore on Saturday with support from Star Kitchen.

Following Umphrey’s McGee’s special early set for their VIP ticketholders, Star Kitchen got the party started with an opening set featuring saxophonist James Casey (Trey Anastasio Band). After the opening performance, Umphrey’s McGee got the main event started by completing the “Wizard Burial Ground” they had started the previous night.

A “The Linear” > “Walletsworth” combo was up next, followed by a segued three-song segment comprised of “Preamble”, an unfinished “Mantis”, and “Miss Tinkle’s Overture”. “Half Delayed” > “Hurt Bird Bath” followed before Star Kitchen drummer Marlon Lewis took over the drum kit and UM drummer Kris Myers stepped to the mic to lead a bust-out cover of Rage Against The Machine‘s “Bombtrack”. This marked the first Umphrey’s “Bombtrack” since 12/30/16 (a gap of 268 shows) and just their fourth rendition of the cover ever.

When the band returned after a short set break, James Casey was with them to lend his horn to a rendition of “It Doesn’t Matter”. The majority of the second set came without pause, as Umphrey’s McGee worked through “Plunger” > “Yoga Pants” -> “August” (featuring a Def Leppard “Hysteria” tease) > “Plunger” > “Partyin’ Peeps”. Finally, “In The Kitchen” (featuring a tease of Jimi Hendrix‘s “Little Wing”) > “Mantis” brought the second set to a close before an always-welcome “Pay the Snucka” encore capped a memorable weekend of Umphrey’s McGee.
