Umphrey’s McGee recently announced RÖCKJAVIK, a three-night residency in March 2020 that will see the band take over the stunning Eldborg Hall within the Harpa Conference Center in Reykjavik, Iceland. The upcoming run—set for March 20th, 21st, and 22nd, 2020—falls during peak Northern Lights viewing season.

On Thursday, the Chicago-based rock band announced the support bands that will help “put the RÖCK in Röckjavik.” Joining Umphrey’s McGee on this adventure will be Star Kitchen, TAUK, The Vintage Caravan, and Jennifer Hartswick.

As the band explains about each group,

Star Kitchen is the Philly super-group led by Marc Brownstein (The Disco Biscuits) Expanding on the music of Stevie Wonder, Wu-Tang, Hendrix, Kool and the Gang and others, their shows offer a unique flare with a psychedelic twist on the classics.

Our good friends TAUK bring the heat to Iceland with their unique instrumental blend of progressive rock, hip-hop, and jazz.

Made in Iceland, The Vintage Caravan sound like they’ve been together forever, though the young trio has been together since 2012. A little classic rock, a little metal, but all ROCK. TVC adds some local flavor to Röckjavik. Make sure to check out their latest album Gateways, and prepare thyselves.

No stranger to the UM stage, we’re honored to include the one and only Jennifer Hartswick to Röckjavik as a special guest artist on the prowl. She makes a good time, every time.

RÖCKJAVIK will feature six sets of Umphrey’s McGee, in addition to these hand-picked support acts in one of Europe’s most celebrated venues. Eldborg Hall was designed as a world-class concert hall, with state-of-the-art acoustic technology that can be adjusted to performances, conferences, and lectures of all kinds. The hall’s design features make Eldborg a truly adaptable modern venue.

Umphrey’s is offering up a “umVIP program”, which guarantees seating in the first 5 rows, and a meet-and-greet with the band on Saturday, March 21st including an open bar with traditional Icelandic canapes in the stunning Haaloft top-floor lounge inside Harpa. The package also includes an autographed concert poster by renowned artist Chuck Sperry, an exclusive merch item, mp3 downloads of all three shows, and more.

The band will also offer a “umVIP Travel option”, which includes all of the above, plus accommodations at the Radisson Blu 1919, a 4-star hotel located in the heart of Reykjavik. The hotel is a five-minute walk to the Harpa Conference Center, allowing fans a convenient and stress-free vacation.
