CBS and the Recording Academy have announced United We Sing: A GRAMMY Salute to the Unsung Heroes, a television special event hosted by Harry Connick, Jr. Airing on Sunday, June 21st at 8:00 p.m. ET via CBS, the event will celebrate essential workers across America.

The special will follow Harry and his daughter Georgia Connick as they embark on a road trip to thank and celebrate essential workers who risk their lives on a daily basis to keep us safe. Celebrities Sandra Bullock, Drew Brees, Queen Latifah, Brad Pitt, Oprah Winfrey, and Renée Zellweger will aid the duo in this mission throughout the special. Furthermore, the two-hour television event will feature musical performances by Jon Batiste, Harry Connick, Jr., Dave Matthews, John Fogerty, Andra Day, Jamie Foxx, Herbie Hancock, Cyndi Lauper, Little Big Town, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, Tim McGraw, Rockin Dopsie, Irma Thomas, and Trombone Shorty.

Produced by Renato Basile and Ann Marie Wilkins, United We Sing will begin in Connick’s Connecticut home before stopping at various cities and arriving in New Orleans. Viewers will listen to stories of essential workers in the fields of healthcare, food preparation, sanitation, law enforcement, trucking, and more.

Viewers are asked to contribute to charities that support underserved children, such as No Kid Hungry and the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music in New Orleans, as well as to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, a charitable organization of the Recording Academy.
