Violent Femmes have announced plans for a spring 2019 co-headlining tour with first-wave American punk heroes X.
The busy 2019 touring schedule comes as Violent Femmes continues to promote last year’s release of 2 Mics & The Truth: Unplugged & Unhinged In America, a collection of unprecedented live recordings.
X will also be promoting some new releases. The band recently announced the reissuing and remastering of their first four classic albums via their collaboration with Fat Possum Records. The remastered edition of Los Angeles (1980) will be released on February 22nd, and the re-vamped Wild Gift (1981) will be released on March 22nd, while Under The Big Black Sun (1982) and More Fun In The New World (1983) will each be released on April 12th. In addition, the band recently re-entered the recording studio for the first time since 1984.
The joint tour will include stops in San Diego, CA (5/5); Phoenix, AZ (5/7); Austin, TX (5/9); Houston, TX (5/10); San Antonio, TX (5/13); Tulsa, OK (5/14); Memphis, TN (5/16); St. Louis, MO (5/17); and Madison, WI (5/18). The two bands will also make appearances at the inaugural KAABOO Texas festival in Arlington, TX on May 11th. Ahead of their co-headlining jaunt with X, Violent Femmes will also perform at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV (5/3) and the inaugural BeachLife Festival in Redondo Beach, CA (5/4).
Tickets for the newly announced dates go on sale this Friday, February 22nd, via the Violent Femmes and X websites.
