Funk outfit Vulfpeck shared a video of “Back Pocket” from their sold-out September 28th show at Madison Square Garden in New York this week. The clip sees singer and guitarist Theo Katzman conducting the crowd at MSG in three-part harmony for the beginning of the video, before launching the band into a lively rendition of the track from 2015’s Thrill of the Arts.
The first couple minutes of the video are almost exclusively a capella as Katzman organizes the entire venue in singing the chorus, while receiving beat-box support from drummer Jack Stratton. After Katzman shows the crowd the ropes of the song, he lets them take a shot at the refrain before “Peck-a-pella” joined in for a nice back-and-forth with the audience. From there, they donned their instruments once again and jumped into a soulful rendition of “Back Pocket.” Watch the pro-shot video below.
