The newest heart-throbs to the music community are four-piece, funk and rhythm group Vulfpeck. Yesterday, the band shared their keyboard player’s solo album with us (which came out on the first of the year 2016).

Woody Goss‘s Solo Rhodes is unlike the music of Vulfpeck, but honors the flawless technicality one seeks in a studio musician’s solo work. Enchantingly jazzy, drifting and soaring, slightly reminiscent of a mad scientist in a 1950s black and white film but also elusive of an old-time love story, the eight-song album is a perfect wind-me-down, drinking hot coffee by the fireplace, watching the snow fall from the sky while engaging in deep thought, type of listen. Enjoy the tracks below and buy them on Bandcamp.

In case you missed it, Vulfpeck will be joining Lettuce, GRiZ, Chris Robinson, and a handful of other Funk Fools for the inaugural Fool’s Paradise two-day destination music event in St. Augustine, FL. Tickets are on-sale now. Check out the full lineup on the flyer below:
