Leader of one of the longest and most beloved touring bands of the past quarter century, Dave Matthews turns 49 years old today. The charismatic singer, songwriter and guitar player and his unique hybrid of rock, jazz and folk have propelled the Dave Matthews Band to rare heights seen by a band whose roots were in the jam scene, coming up at a time in the early 90s when the H.O.R.D.E. Tour was featuring bands like Phish, Blues Traveler, Widespread Panic, The Samples, Aquarium Rescue Unit, and The Spin Doctors.

Establishing himself as one of the most unique performers of his generation, delighting his fans with his notorious “Dave Speak,” Matthews continues to attract fans worldwide, just this past fall playing a European tour that included stops in Abu Dhabi, Lisbon, Madrid, Florence, Rome, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, and London.

Here now in celebration of Matthews’ birthday is a full-show performance from the summer of 2012 at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI. The show features several dynamic collaborations with jazz fusion guitarist Stanley Jordan. Take a watch below:
