Col. Bruce Hampton’s Aquarium Rescue Unit played The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on Saturday August 15th. During their set, they were joined on stage by the exceptionally talented Nikki Glaspie on drums and young guitar prodigy Brandon “Taz” Niederauer on guitar.

When Niederauer’s band Lions On The Moon opened the night, Nikki was informed that one of their original songs “Lions On The Moon” was inspired by The Nth Power’s song “Walk On Water.” Once hearing the song, she stayed in the audience for the rest of their set.

The Lions played the after-show at Garcia’s for a 2 hour set, where Glaspie surprised the band at the end of the night to play the aforementioned song – a full circle of dreamy inspiration for everyone. Drummer Henry Thomas was honored to share his kit with the legend herself, and the band was ready to rage.

Lions On The Moon is a band of young players from the ages of 12 to 15, including Brandon Niederauer “Taz.” They will be playing at Garcia’s on Friday August 28 at 8pm with Bobby Paultaf Band and will also be opening for Fishbone at Brooklyn Bowl on September 20th.
