It’s been one year since the world lost bassist Jack Bruce, perhaps best known for his role in the short-lived, highly-potent rock trio Cream. In honor of Bruce, a number of iconic musicians gathered together to perform in the “Sunshine Of Your Love” tribute concert last Saturday night, October 24th, in England.
The veritable who’s who included Cream drummer Ginger Baker, Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera, Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson, and Jack Bruce’s daughter, Aruba Red, among many more. The tribute concert was put on as a benefit for EACH Hospices in the UK.
Watch “Sunshine Of Your Love” below, with Aruba Red on lead vocals:
And here’s “We’re Going Wrong”:
Unfortunately there was no appearance from Eric Clapton, guitarist of Cream, though he did release the song “For Jack” shortly after the bassist passed away. RIP Jack Bruce.
