The Tedeschi Trucks Band are on a roll! With just days to go before their new album, Let Me Get By, is officially released, the twelve-piece rock and rollers have been rocking it hard on their ongoing winter tour. Last weekend, the esteemed group traveled to Chicago for a two night run at the Chicago Theatre on Friday and Saturday, January 22-23.
The Collective Soul Of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s New Album, ‘Let Me Get By’ [Review/Full Stream]
During the first show, Tedeschi and Trucks welcomed out esteemed pianist Leon Russell for two numbers, The Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Darlin’ Be Home Soon” and Titus Turner’s “Sticks & Stones.” The two were staples from Russell’s days with Joe Cocker, and both appear on the Mad Dogs & Englishman album. It’s no surprise that these were the two songs performed, as Russell played them with Tedeschi Trucks Band during the Cocker tribute at Lockn’ 2015. You can watch that set here.
Thanks to YouTube user Brian J. Leonard, we now have fan-shot footage of this exciting Chicago collaboration. Tune in below:
