As we previously reported, Netflix announced that they had picked up the highly acclaimed Bob Weir documentary, with plans to release it on May 22nd. Titled The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip of Bob Weir, the film first debuted in the Tribeca Festival and received praise, and we’re certainly excited to see its distribution through Netflix.
Speaking about the documentary, Netflix VP of Original Documentary and Comedy Lisa Nishimura said, “[Director] Mike Fleiss was given unprecedented access to create an intimate and compelling film about one of the most prolific, respected and beloved musicians of our time… We are proud to bring Bob’s story to his fans around the world on the eve of the Dead’s final shows at Soldier Field in Chicago.”
Now we get our first taste of The Other One, as Netflix has released the trailer. In the clip, Weir says, “They say blood is thicker than water. What we had was thicker than blood.” Watch it below:
