Watch Thundercat’s Trippy Animated Video For His ‘Song For The Dead’

Bass virtuoso Thundercat has released an awesome animated video for his track “Song for the Dead”. The song, which originally appeared on his The Beyond / Where The Giants Roam, comes out today on the one-year anniversary of the release of his critically-acclaimed, funky EP. The piece was animated by Australian visual artist Ry No, and it premiered this morning on Adult Swim’s Facebook page.

Thundercat hits the road again next month, and he has a three special West Coast dates coming up with most of his Brainfeeder label-mates. September 15th and 16th will find the group playing a two-night run at Oakland’s Fox Theatre (buy tickets here). September 17th, however, will be the true heater, as Thundercat will join Flying Lotus, The Gaslamp Killer, Shabazz Palaces, and the legendary George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic at the serene Hollywood Bowl (buy tickets for this insane lineup here).
