Watchhouse got into the fall spirit on Tuesday, sharing a cover of Neil Young‘s “Harvest Moon”. The duo formerly known as Mandolin Orange is currently out on the road for a run of fall dates continuing tonight, November 10th, in Knoxville.
From the first moment of the video, Watchhouse’s authenticity is evident as the group includes the most famous broom in music history, heard on the title track of Young’s 1992 album. The brilliant sweeping of Alan Morgan aside, the duo of Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz is joined by Josh Oliver (guitar), Clint Mullican (bass), Jamie Dick (drums), and Nat Smith (cello). The dutiful rendition puts a crisp fall chill in the air as the proverbial leaves of change whisk through the studio and crunch underfoot.
Watchhouse will close out 2021 with a run of shows beginning tonight, November 10th at the Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville. The tour continues on Thursday at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta ahead of a sold-out show at the Georgia Theatre in Athens on Friday. Watchhouse has a two-night run at DPAC in Durham, NC slated for November 19th and 20th before finishing out the year at Asheville, NC’s Thomas Wolfe Auditorium on December 3rd.
