Ween returned to Port Chester, NY on Saturday to continue its three-night run at the iconic Capitol Theatre.
After the pork roll-themed show on Friday night, Gene and Dean Ween had some more surprises planned for the Saturday night extravaganza. While the bulk of the set arrived true to form, the band did bust out a couple of songs that hadn’t been played since 2018 (per Brownbase), namely “Reggaejunkiejew” and “Ooh Va La”, last performed on October 30th, 2018 and December 16th, 2018, respectively. Towards the end of the show, Gene switched out his electric guitar for a mandolin, leading the group through a take on a penultimate “Ocean Man”.
Gene and Dean came out as a duo for the encore, with the former playing an acoustic guitar on “Baby Bitch”. Gene remained on his acoustic guitar as the rest of the band joined on “Tender Situation”, and the proceeding “Don’t Laugh (I Love You)” saw Dean on bass, which Dave Dreiwitz traded for Dean’s guitar.
