As cities across the country brace for winter weather, organizers of Whippersnap Music & Arts Festival are planning their annual February getaway in the warm Florida sun. Set for February 18th–21st, 2026, in Brooksville, FL, Whippersnap Festival will feature a lineup led by Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Spafford, and Thumpasaurus [get tickets].
Returning to the Florida Sand Music Ranch, about 45 minutes north of Tampa, Whippersnap will host a diverse roster of jam, funk, livetronica, bluegrass, and Americana talent. Though The New Mastersounds just wrapped their Ta-ta For Now farewell tour on New Year’s Eve in Denver, that isn’t stopping guitarist Eddie Roberts and his Lucky Strokes from heading down to Whippersnap. Perennial Midwestern jam favorite Dizgo will also perform, in addition to budding Florida-native jam bands The Heavy Pets, Ajeva, MiniM, and Guavatron.
The far-reaching 2026 Whippersnap lineup also includes Cope, Flow Tribe, Joe Marcinek Band, Joslyn & The Sweet Compression, Greenhouse Lounge, S.P.O.R.E., Tru Phonic, Antelope, Tire Fire, Sauce Pocket, Brain Emoji, Sooza, Road to Nowhere, Light the Wire, and more. The festival will also host artists-at-large Kanika Moore (Doom Flamingo), returning Whippersnap alum Alex Steele, the Sooza horns, and guitarist Joe Marcinek, who will all make surprise sit-ins with various artists throughout the weekend.
The Florida Sand Music Ranch has everything the seasoned festivalgoer wants from a small festival. Attendance is capped at 2,500 to maintain an intimate environment. Music occurs on two stages, located just a few minutes’ walk apart, with a ten-minute gap between sets so fans don’t have to miss a note. The live oak tree-lined grounds offer shaded camping, over 200 electric/water RV hookups, shower houses, and restrooms. And the family-friendly environment features kids’ activities and a playground located near the main stage, as well as daily wellness classes.
While the intimate atmosphere offers the best parts of a small festival experience, the production team of The Disco Biscuits lighting designer Alex “Herm” Schneider and Laser Fox Productions provides an audiovisual display on par with events of far greater size. The package of sound, lighting, lasers, and LED projection mapping brings megafest production value to a local festival environment.
Emphasizing that community feel, Dunedin Brewing will be on-site to serve craft beers from Florida’s oldest microbrewery. Local vendors will also set up booths and trucks to offer food and crafts, and guests are welcome to bring their own food and drinks.
