Widespread Panic will return to Nashville in 2025 for the band’s first shows at Ascend Amphitheater in seven years. The concerts on April 24th, 25th, and 26th add to a steadily growing schedule for the Athens, GA-native outfit after its 2024 plans were put on hold while guitarist Jimmy Herring underwent treatment for tonsil cancer.
Tickets for the 2025 Widespread Panic shows in Nashville will go on sale to the general public on Friday, January 10th at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster. These will mark the band’s first shows at the 6,800-capacity outdoor amphitheater since a three-night Labor Day Weekend run in 2018. Widespread Panic last played in Nashville for its 2022 New Year’s run.
The Nashville run is the third set of 2025 dates announced by Widespread Panic so far. The band will make its triumphant return to the stage over Valentine’s Day Weekend in Atlantic City, then head to St. Augustine. FL for a customary spring break weekend on March 21st–23rd. The 2025 shows will mark Panic’s first performances since Red Rocks Amphitheatre in June 2024, after which the band informed fans that Herring had been diagnosed with stage one tonsil cancer and would seek treatment immediately. Cancellations followed for Asheville, Boston, and Las Vegas before the group cleared its calendar for the remainder of 2024. While absent from the stage, WSP released the six-song Hailbound Queen on November 8th, a companion to Snake Oil King which arrived back in June.
This latest announcement also falls on what would have been late Widespread Panic guitarist Michael Houser‘s 62nd birthday. Celebrate the Lingering Lead’s life and legacy with these ten standout jams.
