The Athens, GA-native jam titans of Widespread Panic have once again teamed up with local roasters Jittery Joe’s to release a brand new coffee collaboration, “Proving Grounds.” Widespread Panic’s “Proving Grounds” will be sold in keepsake cans featuring artwork by Scraped Knee – Matt Leunig. The new coffee blend will be available to order Friday, November 8th on the Jittery Joe’s website.

The new blend cleverly takes its name from the classic Widespread Panic song, “Proving Ground“, which first appeared on the band’s eponymous 1991 sophomore studio album. The band previously partnered with Jittery Joes in 2017 for another special blend with a coffee-appropriate Panic song for a name, “Up All Night.” The Widespread Panic/Jittery Joe’s connection honors the vibrant creative scene in Athens, of which both have been a part of for decades.

As Widespread Panic vocalist/guitarist John Bell explained upon the release of the “Up All Night” blend in 2017, “Many thanks to Jittery Joes for letting us join them in the coffee world. One of the great perks of being in a rock band from Athens.”

“Athens has such an amazing and rich history of music,” said Michael Ripps, President of Jittery Joe’s Coffee. “We are so excited to be partnering with Widespread Panic as part of our special collaborations with Athens musicians.”
