Last night, Widespread Panic gave fans an incredible showing at Hippodrome/The France-Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore, MD last night, working in original music with prized covers of artists like The Band, Willie Dixon, Buffalo Springfield and more. While the show was particularly joyful, fans who have been following the band’s Northeast run may have noticed one detail about their first six shows: the band hasn’t repeated any songs.
Throughout the first six nights of this tour, which started last week in Washington, DC before coming to Brooklyn, NY and Philadelphia, PA over the weekend, the band has played a total of 120 songs. It was PanicStream that first pointed out the no-repeat setlists, a trend that has grown increasingly popular in the jam scene. Dead & Company also started out their tour in a similar fashion. It makes sense, given the sheer devotion to each performance by bands in this scene.
The beauty of not repeating songs is that it forces the band to dig deep into their catalog, and pull out a major bust out like “Last Dance” to close out the show. The song hadn’t been played in 174 appearances, dating back to 6/7/14.
Check out the setlist from last night, with the previous five shows posted in reverse chronological order below.
