Anyone who’s attended a Widespread Panic concert has seen Edie Jackson, a sign language interpreter that performs alongside the band to benefit the hard of hearing. Jackson teaches during the day and works with the band at night, and her inspirational story was recently featured on the Today Show.

The segment focuses on Jackson’s process, with some great commentary from guitarist/frontman John Bell. It’s great to see how much thought goes in to this truly wonderful service, and how deaf people can enjoy such great music through Jackson’s hard work.

You can watch the great feature from Today, below.

Widespread Panic kicks off their summer tour on June 17th at the NWA Food Bank in Rogers, AR.
