Widespread Panic has released a new single, “Little by Little”, a gritty, driving rocker cut from familiar Panic cloth. The track follows 2020’s “Sundown Betty” as just the second new studio track from the Athens, GA swamp-rock heroes since 2015’s Street Dogs. Originally introduced to audiences during a performance in Huntsville, AL on 7/29/23 and has made its way into the band’s live setlists five additional times since.

“Little By Little” is one of several new songs the band has rolled out during live shows in the past several years. The relative glut of recent new songs—including the two aforementioned tracks in addition to “We Walk Each Other Home”, “Blue Carousel”, “Tackle Box Hero”, “Halloween Face”, and “King Baby”—has led many to speculate that a new Widespread Panic album is on its way, though the band has remained quiet on specifics.

While Widespread Panic has never been known to rush the creation and release of new music, the band maintains a steady stream of archival releases ranging from past live performances to 2022’s Miss Kitty’s Lounge, a collection of previously uncirculated studio demos recorded back in 1990.
