Widespread Panic kicked off the first leg of their 2015 spring tour last night in Boise, ID, performing for the first time since Panic En La Playa last January. WSP had been playing with drummer Duane Trucks since last fall, as Todd Nance tended to some personal matters, and it appears that Trucks will continue to perform with the band until further notice.

When pressed for comment by Jambase, WSP’s reps said, “Duane is sitting in while Todd takes some personal time,” shedding no new light on the situation.

Duane Trucks Will Drum For Widespread Panic On Upcoming Tour

Meanwhile, Widespread played a heater for their tour opener, covering Led Zeppelin’s “D’yer Ma’ker” for the first time since they debuted it on Halloween. They also played a new original, “Street Dogs For Breakfast,” in last night’s encore. WSP has been playing new songs recently, and even spent some time in the studio not too long ago. The song has been performed by Jojo Hermann’s solo band before, but this was its WSP debut, and there’s no telling if the song will appear on the album.
