The music world continues to mourn the loss of drummer Butch Trucks, a Southern rock legend who was a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band. What the Allmans started has been picked up by bands like Widespread Panic, who have thoroughly embraced the legacy of jammed out blues rock.

Yesterday, in honor of Trucks’ untimely death, Panic reached into their archives and pulled out a pro-shot video performing the song “Jessica.” The famed Allman Brothers instrumental tune was featured on the Allman Brothers’ album Brothers & Sisters, and still remains one of their most vibrant songs to date. This particular version features Panic’s collaboration with Chuck Leavell, who actually played on the Allman’s studio rendition of the song. Panic’s drummer is also Duane Trucks, nephew to Butch.

The band shared the video with a short and simple note: “In memory, respect and love of Butch Trucks.” Watch this beautiful performance below, as shared by Widespread Panic.
