Two of Texas’ finest, The Red Headed Stranger Willie Nelson and The Man from Waco Charley Crockett, join forces on a new song, “That’s What Makes the World Go Around”.
The pair teamed up when Willie called from his Pedernales Recording Studio in Spicewood, TX and said he wanted to record something new. Crockett said he “told him I had plenty” before furiously writing with his producer.

“We fired ‘em off to Spicewood where [Nelson] sang and took a ride on one that very next day,” Crockett recalled. “When I heard him come in singing on his first line, I shed a tear. Then his leads on Trigger hit, and I was crying!”
The young and old Texas legends trade verses on the tune, their distinctive voices blending like fine spirits in a timeless honky tonk cocktail. Listen to Charley Crockett and Willie Nelson’s new song “That’s What Makes the World Go Around” below.

Willie Nelson also has plans to get on the road again this year after celebrating his 90th birthday in 2023 and will perform on a bill with Crockett at Stagecoach Music Festival in Indio, CA on April 27th. He will then join up with Chris Stapleton and Sheryl Crow in Seattle on July 27th as part of Stapleton’s All-American Road Show tour. His collaboration with Billy Strings is also nominated for a Grammy.
